Please pray for us as we venture out to Kenya, Africa once again. We will be meeting with indigenous church leaders for training and equipping. We will also be gathering the staff of New Dawn for additional training and presenting the vision of our next New Dawn Community. There will be leaders from Tanzania and Uganda who will be joining us. The team travels down to Tanzania to look at land we are considering for the next New Dawn in that country. Let’s redeem this generation of indigenous youth and raise them up to be Christ centered world changers. “Pamoja Tutashinda” Swahili for “Together we will succeed”

We had a very fruitful trip.
The community and students are experiencing genuine transformation.
We held two Pastor’s conferences; one in Central Provence, Kenya and the other in Tanzania. We are looking at some land at the base of Mount Kilimanjarofor our next community.
We presented the staff at New Dawn with some training, seeking to expand their vision of what they are devoting themselves to. The following is a revised copy of some of the asspects of our community. Our vision is expanded as well:

How is New Dawn operated and sustained?
This is a faith based interdenominational endeavor of those who desire to participate with God
and one another in meeting the essential needs of those who are suffering in developing nations.
We are individuals in an international cooperation who are sharing our knowledge, talents, and resources with those in need, in a mutually beneficial exchange. We partner with the helpless and hopeless until they gain the essential information and skills necessary for them to initiate and sustain transformation. This process empowers them to alter their destiny and become agents for change within their community. “We lighten their load and enlighten their minds to brighten their future.”
New Dawn is a place where…
Biblical doctrines are not only taught but applied and displayed.
It is a community in which the enriched help the impoverished.
People who have an abundance share with those who are in need.
Here, the widow, the orphan and the hurting can find help, hope, and healing.
The Father’s House
Within a New Dawn Community is the establishment of what we call “The Father’s House” for parentless children. We believe that each person is created by God in His image and therefore all are equal in value and should live in harmony and equity with others. We seek to lift the widow and orphan from the circumstances and stigma of destitution by relating to them in honor and dignity. In fact, the widow and orphan enter into a very intimate and unique relationship with God at the moment of their loss; the Scriptures tell us that God pays special attention to them and He does so through His caring people. Therefore, we regard these precious ones with respect, choosing to refer to them as “The Father’s Children” because of this closeness.
Our program
We receive 13-18 year old disadvantaged youth that have graduated from the 8th grade through the government funded primary education program, who are willing and able to continue their education through our high school and vocational training program. Upon graduation our students are awarded a diploma and are assisted in choosing their vocation, ministry or university.
Cultural respect
We honor the wholesome culture and traditions of all indigenous people and seek to promote personal esteem and national pride in each unique society. We only endeavor to interrupt the negative cycles of fear, poverty, disease, and oppression by; showing God’s love, teaching and modeling the doctrines of Christ, educating in academics, providing training and experience in vocational skills, addressing health issues, promoting athletics and creativity, instilling respect for authority, and developing an increased capacity for service within their community and leadership among their peers. “We are improving their situation without destroying their culture.”
Primary purpose
The primary function of New Dawn Communities is to bring genuine help, hope, and healing to the hurting. This is accomplished by coming along side indigenous people in their need and showing them the love of Christ through following the example of Christ through practical application.
Partnering with Pastors
We see the authentic interdenominational church of Christ as the agency through which the ills of humanity are most effectively addressed. Therefore, we seek to work together in a cooperative effort, uniting their influence with our resources to improve the quality of life of those who suffer. We regularly sponsor Training and Equipping Conferences for indigenous church leadership to gain spiritual knowledge, experience, tools and expanded vision for the good of their local congregations and society.
Civic and community involvement
There is an ongoing effort to interact with the community and civic leaders in order to promote respect for authority and cast the vision for leadership opportunities within local government.
Pastoral enrichment
Our community facilities are used as a Pastoral Retreat and Conference Center, where church
leaders can receive vital renewal, expanded vision and ministry enhancing training at no cost.
Through our indigenous staff and international teams, we are providing;
Positive role models
Spiritual instruction
Character and moral development
Academic education
Vocational training
Athletic participation
Local community involvement
Health and hygiene awareness
Personal counseling
Gift and talent discovery
Restoration of self esteem and confidence
Emotional and physical healing
Apprenticeship program
Our goal is to redeem a generation of youth bereft of their families through no fault of their own. We endeavor to instill in them moral character, leadership skills, and a vision to effect a positive change in their society; thus breaking the cycle of fear and poverty by equipping each person with the education and skills necessary to become successful ministers and business entrepreneurs.
Each New Dawn department director is committed to developing and maintaining their department with excellence and efficiency, fulfilling their responsibilities thoroughly, and with cheerfulness.
Each aspect of the community, such as farming, livestock, food service, hospitality, maintenance, education, medical care, chaplaincy etc. is operated as a training environment for the students.
The freshman students are allowed to adjust to their new situation, focusing their attention on
personal healing and growth, as well as building relationships and good academic habits.
The sophomore students are given the opportunity to experience each aspect of New Dawn through
out the school year in order to give them a comprehensive knowledge of the community operations.
The juniors choose specific areas of interest and proficiency to “apprentice” in for a quarter.
The seniors are allowed to facilitate the introduction of the community functions to the sophomores.
This reinforces the proficiency of their chosen field by allowing them to teach what they are learning.
All overseers incorporate community members, on a rotation basis, to assist them in the dispensing of their duties in order to provide practical experience in their area of expertise. Students exemplifying specific aptitude and enthusiasm in a given department are considered for their apprenticeship as juniors. The apprenticeship shall be for a quarter, or a semester, and are designed to provide both help to the overseer, as well as instill detailed instruction and training to the apprentice in their field of interest. The goal of this program is to expose each member of the New Dawn Community to a wide range of experiences, introducing them to a variety of practical skills, thus increasing the likelihood that each student will find an area of proficiency which can potentially become their trade or ministry, helping them to be adequately equipped to provide for themselves and their families upon graduation.
Becoming self sustained
Each New Dawn Community endeavors to become a self sustaining organization through responsible management of available resources, as well as economic and product development. This is a process and ultimately each community develops its own “capacity for success,” where by, in time, it becomes able to direct profits back into the network of communities and other worthy causes. “We are developing and implementing creative solutions for long standing difficulties.”
Our ultimate goal
We believe these lives, which hang in the balance, are dear to God. With an emphasis on leadership development, we are seeking to nurture the unique God given gifts in each one, while instilling the knowledge and desire to apply their talents in various opportunities and the courage to step into significant roles of responsibility within their society.
“We are raising up Christ centered world changers.”
